Advocacy
Utilizing an industry-led approach, PCIA collaborates with state legislative and regulatory officials on policy positions that protect and promote solutions impacting our industry, our customers, and consumers.
Sustainable Stewardship
Our members have a shared emphasis on sustainable stewardship development and a passion to harmonize standards and common interests involving product stewardship, specifically around pressurized cylinders.
Portable fuels and gases are typically sold to consumers in pressurized cylinders. Often used for grilling, camping, celebrations, home improvement or other specialty projects, they’re designed to be safe, convenient, and accessible - making them an ideal option for the typical consumer.
We collaborate with other industry associations to engage with legislative and regulatory officials on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policy.
In response to growth of EPR laws, PCIA established the Cylinder Collective, a nonprofit Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO), designed to implement and operate successful recycling programs for pressurized cylinders used by consumers.
Education
PCIA utilizes research and educational activities to promote, inform, and engage with stakeholders, supporting the continued growth and development of industry-led solutions.
Innovation
PCIA is a forum designed for innovative collaboration. Working together, we pursue solutions to common industry challenges such as emerging issues, regulatory obligations, EPR policy positions, designing safe and effective stewardship practices, and harmonizing safety standards.
